With ruined priory tower. North of the chancel are the ruins of the Augustinian Priory founded in the reign of King John. It incorporated in its buildings the remains of an earlier Saxon parish church of which the south wall of the tower still stands. The priory was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary and All Saints, and was a cell to that at West Acre.

All of c1300 to the later 14c. The south-west tower includes a porch.

Whissonsett:

Perpendicular. The west tower has panelled battlements with shields in cusped fields and with corner pinnacles.

Head of pre-conquest stone Cross of interlaced wheel type. The only example in Norfolk. Dug up in the churchyard, and pictured in a niche on the south side of the chancel arch.

Was dilapidated about 1630, the living combined with Kirby Bedon. The tower collapsed 8 February 1940. Around the parapet was a group of heraldic stone figures, placed there early in the 17c.
