"The east part is probably the oldest, and this
might be dated before 1550. It was followed by the main
structure facing south with its crowstepped gables,
pedimented mouldings and heavy chimney stacks. Later the
porch was added, as was also the north wing which bears
the date 1690, and the initials I R or F B. If the
former, it could be a member of the Rant family who were
large property owners hereabouts." |

built by John O H Taylor, a Norwich solicitor, between
1870 and 1874. It was visited in 1887 by Queen Kapiolani
of Hawaii on her arrival in this country for Queen
Victoria's Golden Jubilee. |
